About Us

Anandapuram, a Socio-Cultural Institution (Non-Profit Organisation and NGO) dedicated to the Service of Humanity has its base in Nalbari, Assam. Locally known as “Ashram”, it was established in the year 1993, by its founder Swami Barun Anand along with few dedicated members, under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860 (Registration no. 1358/ Dt. 01.09.1993)

One of the pioneering Institution of North East India, it is dedicated towards the promotion of a Healthy, Just and Harmonious Society by inducing Balanced Body and Mind, Scientific Temper  and a Sense of Empathy among the people. To achieve its Vision, Anandapuram uses various traditional as well as progressive methods like Yoga (Asanas & Pranayamas/ Breathing Techniques), Meditation (Vipassana, Dynamic Meditation, Sufi Meditation), Naturopathy, Laughter Therapy, Psychological Counseling, Education, Sports, Art and Culture etc.

Spread across 11 bighas of lush greenery in the outskirts of Nalbari Town, Anandapuram has been selflessly serving humanity for more than two decades. Although, it is popularly known as Ashram, it doesn’t in any way adhere to the old adage of traditional Ashram where Religious discourses are doled out. On the contrary Anandapuram believes that Religion can’t be bigger than the fellow human being, it tries to serve. We at Anandapuram firmly believe that it is wise to impart Scientific temper and Humanity to people rather than blinding them with various religious/ sectarian teachings.

We at Anandapuram also believe that Healthy Body & Mind, Scientific Temper, Empathy and Change should be the corner stone of any Constructive Life-Philosophy. Any philosophy or man-made religion that perpetuates herd mentality by curtailing the power of logical inquiry and empathy is dangerous for a saner world civilisation.

To further its mission of an all-inclusive and holistic development of the society, Anandapuram has been undertaking various selfless and non-profit services since 1993. At present, Anandapuram is operating the below mentioned wings:

  • Ananda Vidya Niketan (KG to Junior College)
  • Sangeet Kanan (School of Music)
  • Nalbari Kala Niketan (School of Arts)
